2023 NEW ELDERS

NIKKI HEMBERRY

Nikki Hemberry, is a 3rd generation Free Methodist Pastor.  She has served in the Free Methodist Church for 30 years. She has been involved with youth, women, preaching/teaching, one on one discipleship, small groups, mentoring and facilitating small groups through the Genesis Process. 

She currently serves at Exodus Church in Longview, WA as Children’s Pastor & Director of Smart Start ELC, an early learning center who serves 140 families in Cowlitz County. Nikki has a heart and passion for instilling strong Biblical foundations in children and families!

Nikki is wife to Pastor Scott Hemberry, mother to 4 adult daughters, and “Grammie Chickie” to 5 of the most amazing grandchildren.  She loves being outdoors, hiking, visiting the ocean, writing curriculum, planning a party, and traveling with her husband!

ANDREW ROYER

Andrew was born and raised in Quincy, WA. He attended George Fox University, where he met his wife Ruth and spent time in Oregon and California, holding different positions in the corporate world. Returning to Quincy in 1999, he managed his family’s businesses, opened a mortgage company, and added an insurance agency. A part of QFMC lay leadership since 2000, in 2011 he entered part-time vocational ministry and in 2017 entered full-time ministry as QFMC’s Executive Pastor. Andrew currently serves as the interim co-lead pastor at QFMC. Andrew & Ruth have two boys, Ethan, a sophomore at George Fox University, and Aaron, a high school junior.

MATTHEW WINTER

Matthew Winter was baptized at a young age and experienced, then already, a calling into full time ministry. With a passion for the Word and ministry in the Church, Matthew has voluntarily served the church in many different areas since he was a child. He went into full time ministry in 2012 in Pretoria, South Africa, where he grew up. He has led large volunteer teams and ministered in children’s, youth, and adult ministries, and also additionally gained experience in technology, sound, and social media. Matthew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. His passions are discipleship and helping people discover their Spiritual gifting. Matthew is a blessed husband and father to a little girl, and together Matthew and his family are immigrating to the USA where Matthew has a pastoral position at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, in Omak. Washington. Matthew currently works for the Church online and regularly preaches, disciples community group leaders and takes on various tasks from afar, until he is able to join the church in person as the Pastor of Family Life Ministries.

PAUL DREWER

Married to Melinda for 31 years.

Co-founder of Soul Adventure, an exercise based ministry that practices both spiritual and physical exercise for personal growth. 

GARY GOODSELL

Gary Goodsell is the staff pastor and facility coordinator at Skyline Family Fellowship in Eagle River, Alaska. Before coming to the PNWC, Gary was an Elder in the Southern Michigan Conference. Gary and his wife Anna are working with various small groups at Skyline. They are working to start a ‘Center for Biblical Understanding’ in Alaska in conjunction with The Word Is Out of Wilmore, Kentucky. Gary and Anna are also investigating various community and outreach efforts in South Central Alaska. Together they enjoy the outdoors, travel, and dogs. Gary also enjoys photography. Anna enjoys crafting and textile arts. Both Gary and Anna have been part of Jesus Christ’s Church since they were very young.

SHEILA HOUSTON

Dr. Sheila Houston recently served at Detroit Redford Free Methodist Church in Detroit Michigan as lead pastor; Dr. Houston also served as Chaplin at Clawson Manor Senior housing in Clawson Michigan. In addition, she serves on African Heritage Network committee as well as being on the last General Conference planning committee.

 

Dr. Houston has made a difference in the Sex Trafficking world by leading teams that work directly with victims of sex trafficking throughout Washington State and internationally. In 2020 she received the Anti Trafficking Trailblazer Award from Seattle Human Resource Mayor’s office Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.  In 2017 she received the Medallion Honoree at Seattle Pacific University. Dr. Houston’s work has been featured in 2015 Seattle Pacific Response Magazine “All in a Days Work. 2012 Seattle Met Magazine recognizes Sheila as “The Finder of Lost Children”, Sheila appeared on Northwest Today, Headline News with Jane-Velez-Mitchell, Nancy Grace, and local NPR and every local news channel and papers throughout the Northwest.

 

Dr. Houston is highly educated with an Doctor of Ministry and Executive Master of Not-For-Profit Leadership from Seattle University: Post-Master Certificate in Transforming Spirituality and Pastoral Leadership Certificate also from Seattle University. She has a BA in Organizational  Behavior and Minor in Communication from Seattle Pacific University.
